Teams fit some P2P campaigns brilliantly and add friction to others. A decision guide: when team fundraising earns its keep, when to skip it, and how to set it up.

We are happy to announce that we've released several new features for your Projects today. The biggest addition is the ability to set a default description, end-date and goal for all fundraisers created for a project. We have also added a simple way for you to ease the integration between BetterNow and your CRM system. And, we have made it possible to hide a project in index pages.
All of the below options can be set at the project level. This enables you to create separate defaults for each of your campaigns/projects. All of the settings are inherited by all fundraisers created for the project. If any of the below settings is left blank, the fundraiser will get to pick freely.
This will help you set expectations with the fundraisers. If you suggest that the fundraiser set a goal of 700 € for a small low-commitment 5k race fundraiser, you are most likely out of touch with your fundraisers. A goal that is too high and unrealistic will not be motivating. On the other hand you do want the participants in a challenge-type event to fundraise more than 700 € so here you want to be able to set a higher suggested goal.
Want to make it super easy to create a fundraiser? Then you can set a default description for the fundraisers. This can also be your way of making sure that the text contain a proper call to action, the correct information on your organisations and whatever else you want the fundraiser to communicate. The fundraiser can override this text with their own personal story. As the header banner image is also inherited by the fundraiser, the result is that if a fundraiser signs up through Facebook, they can have a fundraiser page set up in less than 3 clicks. It will be complete with their profile picture from Facebook, the default description and a good banner image that you have chosen.
The end date for fundraisers is sometimes fixed, e.g. it is the day of an event or maybe it is a campaign that only lasts a month. In this case you can suggest that date as the fundraiser end date. For some projects you might know that the fundraiser type is e.g. sports fundraiser, or it is all for a cultural event or only birthday fundraisers. If this is the case there is no need to ask the fundraiser about the type and you can set a default type.
Our partners organisations use almost as many different CRM systems as we have partners. But this one feature should help all of you in handling your donor data. We will let you set an ID / reference number on each project. This could e.g. be an ID from your CRM system on a specific campaign. We'll make sure that all donations reported for that project will include the reference number in the report. This will help you when e.g. automating import of donor data into your CRM system.
You also now have the option to hide a project form index pages. This is especially useful in two cases.
You are always welcome to write to us for advice on how to set up your next campaign, we are more than happy to help.
